Our Vision
Sean Williamson has worked and lived as a crusader for God in
the Philippines for over 10 years. He is a qualified Social Worker and has worked in various Church based
mission organisations and has led many youth ministry outreach missions all over the Philippines in this
time.
Sean's heart for children has been broken through what he has
expereinced in his time in the Philippines with the extreme poverty and lack of support for widows and
widespread abandonment of young children. He has been led through prayer to stake a claim over the lives of
the people of the Philippines, particularly the children.
Sean and his wife Heidi have a Vision for the creation, development and on going growth of a self sustaining, productive community
called 'Safe Haven Children’s Village' that cares for homeless and orphaned children of the
Philippines.
Our Village
Sean & Heidi have secured a 35 year lease on 2 Hectares
of land on Siargao Island, one of the Northernmost Islands just off the main Philippine Island of
Mindanao.
History has demonstrated that children instutionalised in an
orphanage often develop dysfunctional and anti social behaviours. This does not manifest until later in life
and can limit their capacity to function in a healthy and productive way in normal society.
Safe Haven Children’s Village (SHCV) is not an institution or an
orphanage. Children will no longer be orphans or be referred to as orphans, rather be sons and daughters of a
committed loving family where all their physical and emotional needs can be met and where they can be led to
the Lord through the leadership of the Village team.
Children will live in traditional Philippino style homes with up
to 6 other children of similar ages, and a care parent or parents who will provide love, protection and
guidance as they grow
Children will do normal daily chores and undertake regular
schooling tuition. They will also learn and implement horticultural skills, life skills, health and
hygiene skills and these will become part of their daily lives within the SHCV.

Our Guiding Principles
-
Our heart is for the homeless, orphaned, unwanted or
abandoned children.
-
To provide basic care, shelter, clothing, food and medical
needs.
-
To provide education, vocational training and
spiritual development.
-
To provide for adult independence through education and
job/career counselling.
-
T o have a fully
functioning and self sustaining community
-
The oversight of the community will be facilitated by
Philippino leaders.
-
The Philippino leaders will be responsible for day to day
village management and care of the children.
Sean &
Heidi’s role will be to seed and facilitate the development of the SHCV with a clear
mandate that the Village will become a fully self sustaining community governed by the laws and
regulations of the Philippines
-
Every effort is being made to distance
the Village in it’s practises and language
from that
of an institution or orphanage.
-
Ecologically responsible practises will
be employed and taught throughout the Village.
-
Wherever possible to seek small
business opportunities to provide employment to the local people, thus helping to end the
poverty cycle.

Help Support Us
It is important that the lives of every child involved in this
mission project are changed and enriched, not only the children but YOU.
We invite those who partner with us to find an opportunity to come and
visit the Safe Haven Children’s Village, to experience it first hand and be changed
forever.
It has been said, ‘If you won’t make a change in your own life, make a
change in someone else’s’. When you give to this project you are making a life changing difference to the
children you support. No gift or donation is too small.
This project exists and is sustained by the generous support and
partnership of people like you.
If you are interested in partnering with us in the Safe Haven
Children’s Village by making a donation or supporting the Village in any way, we would love to hear from
you.
Bookings can also be made for us to come to your home, church,
organisation or corporation.
